She's gotten a bit more publicity, but I'm hooked on her voice - there's more than just a foreign singer banking on a sultry accent. She can really carry herself along those soft, rolling drum and piano lines.
If you haven't already checked out Daytrotter, they've got some fresh goods from The Walkmen. Actually the fresh goods are their cover of some Leonard Cohen covers. Check em out ovah here.
Replicas, the original album came out in 1979, before when most of us weren't even born, but the album returns with some additional tracks for those who missed out.
I caught the Bon Iver show over at the Echo. Also caught Phosphorescent as I almost felt that the crowd seemed a bit more enthusiastic about them then Bon Iver. For some free songs, check out their performance at Daytrotter Session.
Justin Vernon (aka Bon Iver) shared moments later into his performance that he was gettin' over a cold- so hinting he wasn't at 100 percent, but even if he didn't mention that I couldn't tell. It only showed what a talented mo-fo he was, and when ended his set with "Skinny Love", wow.
I AM FUEL, YOU ARE FRIENDS has a new track from the upcoming long awaited album by Portishead- simply titled "Third". Its something that's been talked about the past few years- and finally its the real deal. And an album I've really been anxious to hear, to their follow up. Their last studio album, self-titled, was released a decade ago...and now they're finally back after a long hiatus.

Today's Better Breakfast Blend | Forest By Easy Opinion
We start off this week with our special guest blogger Phil from Better Propaganda. And he'll be contributing now and then to our blog to bring us some fresh music off the radar.
(text below from Phil) A little bit like Sigur Ros but heavier on the distortion and the drums - messy postrock/shoegazer combo. This guy directed a music video for Hella and used to be in an old electronic outfit out of my hometown, Sacramento, which is how I picked him up on my radar.
If you are all SXSW'ed out or you're like me, and you're not going. Well, there are plenty of other music happenings goin around. Check these guys out on...
These guys have been around since 1997, and come to us from Fresno, CA. Fans of shoegaze may like these guys as their music is heavily influenced by the shoegaze movement of the early 90's.
I couldn't resist but to add one more for the night... Buckshot is the legendary MC from Black Moon and the mighty Boot Camp Clik...also the co-owner of Duck Down Records. They partner with Stones Throw to give you a night of some boogey shakin' magic.
